Pakistan board recovers dues from ICC

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally secured long-standing dues worth almost US$1.5 million from the ICC and the Trans World International (TWI) according to an official statement released by the board.

The board got US$ 891,234 from the ICC as payment for Pakistan's pending share from the World Cup held in South Africa in 2003. The money was released to the PCB after a long-standing dispute between ICC and Global Cricket Corporation was settled recently. Another sum of US$ 608,730 has been recovered from TWI as balance from television rights fee for the period 1999-2003.

The settlement follows an ICC board meeting held in Dubai recently to finalise the sale of audio-visual rights for ICC events including the 2011 World Cup to be held in South Asia. The PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf represented Pakistan in the meeting.
