Karachi, Feb 5: The Pakistan cricket team returned on Saturday evening
after completing their worst-ever tour of Australia. Pakistan lost all
the three Tests in the first leg of the tour. In the tri-nation
series, Pakistan were beaten in six out of 10 games.
Their only consolation was three victories against arch-rivals India
who failed to qualify for the best-of-the-three finals. Skipper Wasim
Akram stayed back in Australia, team officials said. They added that
he was expected on Sunday.
The team landed in Lahore from where the players dispersed for their
respective cities.
The players, who returned, are: Moin Khan (vice-captain), Wajahatullah
Wasti, Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Ijaz Ahmad, Yousuf
Youhana, Mohammad Wasim, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Abdur Razzaq,
Azhar Mahmood, Saqlain Mushtaq and Shoaib Malik.
Intikhab Alam was the coach and Brig (retd) Khawaja Mohammad Nasir was
the manager.
