Richard Pybus, the former Pakistan and Border coach, as been named as the new coach of the Titans for two years, with an option to extend that by two more. Pybus coached Pakistan between 1999 and 2003 after making a strong name for himself on the South African domestic scene.
He takes charge of a Titans side that has not performed up to expectations in recent season, despite winning the Pro20 tournament in 2004-05. Pybus said: "I am delighted and honoured to accept the post of coach of the Titans. The Nashua Titans are widely respected for the strength and professionalism of their franchise, their playing squad, facilities and administration.
"It is a great challenge and responsibility and I look forward to the Nashua Titans building on their Pro20 success of last season and taking that into the other formats of the game."
Pybus's appointment continues a change if leading personel at the club after Daryll Cullinan's retirement after the last season. He was replaced as captain by Justin Kemp who said he is excited at the prospect of working with Pybus. "The Titans, at this point in our development, require excellent man-management skills and Richard is an expert in this field.
"I have known Richard since I was a schoolboy and am sure that Richard and I will forge a most constructive and successful relationship. I thank the Board of Easterns Titans for consulting with the Titans' players in making this appointment."
