On Friday, the former Dutch captain took part in a game between the Israel U17 team and an Invitation X1 in Ashdod. The game marked the official start of the U17's preparations for next year's European Championships. Lefebvre, a star performer at the World Cup earlier this year, batted at number four, and walked out expecting to score a few runs. However, to the indescribable delight of the U17 team, he was dismissed for just one run, as Dimona's Oren Chinchulkar joined the ranks of the likes of Anil Kumble and Craig White who claimed Lefebvre's wicket in the recent World Cup.
Despite a fantastic bowling and fielding display, the youngster's batting was less impressive and they lost by 40 runs.
Lefebvre continued his visit with coaching for U13 players in Be'er Sheva on Saturday, with the U17 national squad in Tel Aviv on Sunday, and with a large group of U13 players in Tel Aviv on Monday.
