Salisbury Hoping To Show His English Best

While the touring English cricket team ponder how they will handle Australian leg spinning wizard Shane Warne this season, former English Test leg sponner Ian Salisbury has made an immediate impact with University of NSW in the Foster's LightIce grade competition.

The leg-spinning all-rounder spun University of NSW to an outright win and a share of the competition lead when beating Petersham-Marrickville wouright last Saturday.

In his first grade competition match since returning to Sydney for another season, Salisbury took 1-26 in the first innings before spinning a web in the second innings capturing 5-29 off 8.3 overs.

University of NSW will be hoping Salisbury can continue his form when it clashes with Sydney University at St Pauls Oval tomorrow.

Sydney University will be without NSW opener Rodney Davison, who is in Canberra for the Mercantile Mutual Cup match with the Canberra Comets, but new recruit Danny Waugh has shown his value with fine contributions with both bat and ball.

Paceman Anthony Stuart looms as a threat when Eastern Suburbs searches for its second win of the season when facing St George at Hurstville Oval.

Stuart captured 4-47 to guide Easts to victory over defending champion, Sutherland, last Saturday while Saints has only had one win from three games.
