Sambit moves into pole position

After days of relentlessly stalking Ian Chappell, Sambit Bal's persistence has finally paid off as he finds himself on top of the Star Wars table, leading Ian by a critical 76 points.

And once again it was the choice of trump that worked in Sambit's favour. While Ian went with Adam Gilchrist, who fetched just 94 points, Sambit reposed his faith in Rohit Sharma, who may not have shone with the bat, but overall, thanks to his bowling efforts, fetched Sambit a crucial 188 points. Another punt that went Sambit's way was his decision to bring in Ravindra Jadeja a couple of games earlier. He rewarded Sambit with 104 points.

With a double-header lined up today, including a crucial clash between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab - Sambit has two players featuring today and Ian has four - expect more changes tomorrow in the points tally.
