Aided by a fine century by skipper Sanjay Verma, Services made amends
to a disastrous start, ending the third day at 312 for 9 in their
North Zone Ranji Trophy match against Haryana at the Air Force Station
Ground in New Delhi on Saturday. Services are still 77 runs behind
Haryana's first innings total of 389.
Resuming at the overnight score of 84 for 4, Sanjay Verma (116) in the
company of KK Dixit (57) took the score on to 166. Dixit was the first
to be dismissed, caught behind by Ajay Ratra off Mishra. Then Maithrey
(40) joined his skipper to forge a 77 run sixth wicket stand. In the
meantime Sanjay reached his century after a 305 minute stay at the
crease. Sanjay then fell with the score at 253, bowled by Jain.
Thereafter SD Nadkarni (20) and S Javed (36) helped the score along to
303 with a fifty run stand for the eighth wicket. Javed finally fell
in the 112th over of the innings when stumps were drawn.
