England captain Nasser Hussain has had a scan on his back that revealed no serious problems. There were doubts in the England camp as to whether he would be fit for the first Test, and these worries were heightened when he dropped down the batting order to receive treatment during England's first innings.
"Nasser has had a precautionary scan on his back which has revealed no major problems apart from general wear and tear." said England physiotherapist Dean Conway.
"He is not experiencing any major discomfort and we're continuing to monitor the situation and are considering the option of an injection in between Test matches, but at present this is not the plan."
