Owais Shah has been named in Middlesex's Champions League squad, but there is no place for Andrew Strauss which confirms he will be on England duty.
The same could still apply to Shah and a decision on his availability won't be made until after the one-day series against India has finished on December 2. If he isn't selected for the three-day Test warm-up in Baroda he will join up with Middlesex, but Shah has said that England comes first.
"I want to play Test cricket, that is my first aim, and if I am not involved in that three-day game then there is an option for me to go rather than carry drinks," he said. "That is the only scenario where I would go and play in the Champions League but if I'm selected for the three-day game I will play in that and try and put my name in the hat for the Test match."
Nick Compton, who was rumoured to be leaving Middlesex, is named in the 15-man squad which is led by Shaun Udal. They are flying out to India on Thursday and are paying their own way for two days in order to gain as much practice as possible for the tournament which starts on December 3.
Squad Shaun Udal (capt), Alan Richardson, Ben Scott, Billy Godleman, David Nash, Dawid Malan, Ed Joyce, Eoin Morgan, Gareth Berg, Murali Kartik, Nick Compton, Owais Shah, Steven Finn, Tim Murtagh, Tyron Henderson
