Sri Lanka: Div I limited-over Semis and Final under lights

Sri Lanka cricketers will be able to make use of the Premier limited-over (division I) tournament before they embark on their tour to Australia next year.

The tournament committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka has decided to commence the tournament from December 3 with the semi-finals and final to be played under lights.

The dates for the tournaments are December 3,5,6,12,13,19,20,22 (1st semi-final), 23 (2nd semi-final), 26 (final).

This would enable the Sri Lanka cricketers to get enough match practice ahead of the World Series Cup competition where they compete with host Australia and England. The team is scheduled to leave for Australia on New Year's day.

All 16 clubs playing in the Premier championships will participate.

The Champions trophy limited-over tournament for the 15 Sara trophy clubs will also be conducted coincidentally. The fixtures meeting for the two tournaments will take place on November 3 at the Cricket Board headquarters.

Group A: CCC, Tamil Union, Panadura SC, SSC, Bloomfield, Sebastianites, Police SC, Galle CC.

Group B: Moors SC, NCC, Kurunegala YCC, Colts, BRC, Matara SC, Antonians SC, Singha SC.

Group A: Negombo CC, Old Cambrians SC, Air Force, Kurunegala SC, Kalutara TC, Kandy CC, Ambalangoda Rio SC, Matale CC;

Group B: Navy, Kandy YCC, Nomads, Lankan CC, Matugama CC, Kalutara PCC, Old Dharmapalians SC.
