13 schools for SP Under 19 tournament
A good number of thirteen schools have entered the Southern
Province Inter-school under 19 limited over cricket tournament
which is now in progress at the Uyanwatte Stadium, Matara. This
event is sponsored by Union Bank and is organised by the Old
boys Association of St.Servatius College to celebrate the
centenary of the school.
The teams participating in this tournament are Richmond,
Mahinda, St.Aloysius, Dharmasoka, Sri Devananda, Revatha MV
Balapitiya, Ananda MV Elpitiya, Meepawala Amarasuriya MV,
Debarawewa MV, S.Thomas' Matara, Sri Rahula and St.Servatius
College Matara.
Surprise omission
Amila Gunawardena of President's College Rajagiriya is a
surprise omission from the 28 member Sri Lanka under 19 cricket
squad for the forthcoming tour of India.
Gunawardena collected a total of 187 points from five innings
during the trial matches worked off recently.
