To the extent that there is a shortage of cement in the country, these two projects have been affected. The Jamaica LOC is exploring a number of different scenarios in an effort to make up for the time lost. A number of strategies are being discussed as we seek to speedily bring the projects back on track. These include:

Discussions with the Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCC) to consider the national importance of our major undertakings at Sabina Park and in Trelawny, thereby ensuring priority deliveries. The CCC has expressed their willingness to do so and have requested details of our pouring/supply schedules, which have been provided.

Discussions with our Contractors to revise their construction schedules while maintaining the established completion dates of November 30, 2006, for Trelawny and October 31, 2006, for Sabina Park.

Significant increase in material, labour and equipment resources.

Discussions with Jamaica Pre-Mix Limited, suppliers of concrete to both projects, to treat as a matter of priority, the delivery of concrete to the sites.

The establishment by Jamaica Pre-Mix of a mobile batching facility on site at Sabina Park.

The possible importation of cement by our Contractors, having regard to the statutory requirements.

Increased security presence at project sites as necessary.

Fast-tracking of evaluation process, and payment of Interim Certificates.

Acceleration of external work activities, particularly in Trelawny.

Information of any losses and/or additional cost on account of the delays is not yet available. The LOC enjoys the full support of our Contractors in our efforts to re-align our projects in pursuit of the established completion schedules.
