Ever since Phil Tufnell was crowned `King of the Jungle', the undisputed bad boy of English cricket has been all over the place: prime-time chat shows, sports quizzes, radio programmes; whatever next? No, not another book - well, not yet anyway - but next on the show reel is a video of Tuffers doing what he now does best - making people laugh.
Filmed live at the Café de Paris in London, Tufnell packs in all sorts of gags, gaffes and garbage into an entertaining 50 minutes. It's pretty racy stuff at times (note the 15 certificate).
"I've almost forgotten what it feels like to be a cricketer", he quips at the start. You can tell. Armed with his erstwhile team-mates, a pint of lager and a fag, cricket's biggest celebrity rattles through the compere's questions with his own roguish charm. After giving a few uncouth suggestions as to why he was christened The Cat he spins out his naughty-boy tour memoirs, including a dig at the England hierarchy. We also get to hear about Tufnell's sexual exploits, what happened in that restaurant loo in New Zealand, and which cricketers have the biggest lunchboxes.
There is some vintage footage of Tuffers in his previous life causing havoc against West Indies at The Oval in 1991, ripping out the Australians in 1997, and his near hat-trick at Sydney on his first full England tour. Then to the present and the sight of Tufnell smoking while padding up for Lashings and cursing the fact he has to bat.
Asked to place cricket, fags, booze and women in order of importance, guess which one of them comes bottom of the pile. Some things will never change.
