Warne out for 2-4 weeks

Australian vice-captain Shane Warne underwent an MRI scan in Melbourne today after sustaining an injury in his left side while bowling during the Carlton & United Series match against Pakistan on Sunday

Australian vice-captain Shane Warne underwent an MRI scan in Melbourne today after sustaining an injury in his left side while bowling during the Carlton & United Series match against Pakistan on Sunday.
The scan revealed a mild to moderate tear of a muscle in Warne's left side.
At this stage it is expected he will require approximately 2 - 4 weeks for rehabilitation, after which his condition will be reviewed. During that period his condition will be regularly assessed and treated.
Warne said he was disappointed to have incurred the injury.
"The tear in my left side showed up on the scans and obviously it's a bit disappointing. But I won't rush back until it's right because we have a lot of cricket coming up. I still hope to play a big part in the Carlton & United Series," Warne said.
"I have had injuries before and come back well from those. I expect this time to be no different."
The Australian team for Wednesday's match against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground will be selected from the remaining twelve players in Australia's squad.
A decision on whether a replacement player will be called up will be made in due course.
