The youngest player in the Western Warriors squad, 20-year-old batsman Marcus North, will make his one-day debut for WA in Saturday's Mercantile Mutual Cup semi-final against the Southern Redbacks at the WACA Ground.
The Bayswater-Morley left-hander is one of two changes to the WA side which lost to Tasmania in Hobart last weekend. North replaces Australian representative Damien Martyn (touring New Zealand), while fast bowler Brad Williams has been recalled at Mark Atkinson's expense.
North has played three first-class matches in season 1999-2000, scoring 98 runs @ 32.66. The Redbacks 13-man squad arrives in Perth tomorrow. Saturday's winners progress to the February 27 Mercantile Mutual Cup final, along with victors of Sunday's showdown between Qld and NSW at Border Field.
