Wasim Bari, the former Test captain, has replaced Aamer Sohail as Pakistan's chairman of selectors. It is Bari's second stint in the job after he was sacked in July 2001. Iqbal Qasim, Sultan Rana and Ehtshamuddin make up the rest of the panel.
The four-strong team have been asked by Shaharyar Khan, chairman of the board, to get to work immediately. Iqbal, who is also in charge of the junior selection committee, will act as a link between the senior and junior parties.
Khan wrote to Sohail, who held the position since March 2003, saying that he appreciated his contribution, which helped Pakistan's improvement after their dismal 2003 World Cup, and added that he would like to call on Sohail's services some time in the future.
