West Indies: Lequay calls for full report

The West Indies Cricket Board has asked the Jamaica Cricket
Association for a full report on the circumstances that led to the
overturning a decision to award Trinidad and Tobago victory over the
Leeward Islands in last weekend's Red Stripe Bowl semi-final at the
Kaiser Sports Club ground in Jamaica.
T&T were initially declared winners of the contest on a faster scoring
rate. However, that decision by match referee Hugh Perry was cast
aside at an emergency meeting of a committee headed by JCA president
Jackie Hendriks the following day.
The meeting followed an official protest for the Leewards who argued
successfully that Perry had applied the wrong formula to arrive at his
decision.
T&T have since protested the overturning of Perry's decision and the
Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board last week wrote to the West Indies
board expressing its concern over both the handling of the matter and
the lack of acknowledgement by the authorities of the letter of
protest submitted by the national team through their attorney,
Jamaican QC Howard Hamilton. However, the WICB have since informed the
TTCB that they are waiting on the JCA to submit a report on the matter
before it issues a response.
