Phil Weston is moving to Derbyshire on a two-year deal. This is the third county for Weston, the 33-year-old batsman, who has just spent four seasons with Gloucestershire, and prior to that he was at Worcestershire.

"It was a hard decision to leave Gloucestershire," he said, but Derbyshire's director of cricket, Dave Houghton, was understandably delighted with the signing. "Phil is a hugely experienced batsman of real quality," said Houghton, "and he knows how to win and the top level and in pressure situations."
