Haidee Tiffen and Suzie Bates ensured New Zealand's place in the final by adding 262 for the second wicket, the second-highest stand in all women's one-day internationals after 268 for the first wicket by Sarah Taylor and Caroline Atkins for England v South Africa at Lord's in August 2008. Bates hit 168 - the third-highest innings in a women's one-day international - in just 105 balls, with six sixes and 19 fours, outscoring Pakistan single-handed. Tiffen's maiden hundred came from a more sedate 128 balls, with only three fours.
