Worcestershire have recorded a post-tax profit for the fifth year in a row. The club announced a surplus of £58,772 for 2014, a year in which they won promotion back to Division One of the Championship as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the NatWest T20 Blast.
Worcestershire's New Road ground was flooded last winter due to heavy rain but did not impact upon the season. Recent redevelopment, which has seen a hotel and conferencing facilities built, has contributed to Worcestershire's stable financial results.
"Over the last 18th months a great deal of work has been done to develop the club both on and off the pitch to continue the club's aim of being a 365 day a year business," chief executive David Leatherdale said.
"The completion of the club's new 'View' hospitality and conference facilities, along with the Premier Inn hotel, have added a new dimension to what we have to offer. To record a profit for the fifth year running is testimony to the fantastic support received from our many loyal members and spectators.
"Added to this, the continued improvement on the pitch, which saw our young and growing team gain promotion to Division One of the LV= County Championship for the 2105 season, in what will be the club's 150th Anniversary Year, and also saw Moeen Ali cement a place in the England team, all bodes well for the future."
