WP cricket honours Druker and Sonn

WP cricket bestowed life membership on Clem Druker and Percy Sonn, WPCA's two presidents since unity at its Nineth Annual General meeting held at Newlands on Wednesday evening.

Besides honouring Druker and Sonn the WPCA also took leave of Erik van Vlaanderen and Micky Giles who retired from cricket administration. After the four top positions were filled unopposed the only election of the evening saw Shaun Christiansen, Mohamed Ebrahim and Mohamed Bagus being elected to the executive. They join Norman Arendse, Brad Bing, Solomon Mokosana, Cyril O'Connor and Andre Odendaal as ordinary executive members.

A proposal to alter the composition of the selection committee did not receive the necessary two thirds majority. The selection committee will be constituted on the same basis as in previous years and will be elected by the executive committee on 18 July 2000.
