On the local scene, untimely rain prevented any of the four PG Timbers knockout matches from taking place, places in the semi-finals being decided by bowl-outs. As a result, the matches this Saturday will be as follows:
Old Georgians v Takashinga, at Old Georgians
Old Hararians v Uprising, at Old Hararians
Old Hararians v Uprising, at Old Hararians
The missing PG Timbers Vigne Cup scores from 23 November have been uncovered and are included here. This enables us to update the averages and these too are included, as are the final National League tables.
There is still much cricket to come, though, weather permitting, as in addition to the knockout competition there are still three rounds of the Vigne Cup in April, together with the final three rounds of the Logan Cup. The season will draw to a close at the end of April, immediately before the national side tours England; at the moment indications are good that this tour will go ahead as planned.
Regarding players, we concentrate on Craig Evans, with an updated biography and full records of his first-class and one-day careers. At the last minute we have also been able to secure an interview with Guy Whittall who talks about the recent World Cup and reflects on his valuable career for Zimbabwe.
