West Indies in Bangladesh 2012-13 schedule |
The Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna will become the seventh Test venue in the country when it hosts the second Test between Bangladesh and West Indies from November 21. The ground has hosted four ODIs and a single Twenty20 international, the first-ever held in Bangladesh, in 2006.
The break from the Dhaka-Chittagong tradition of the last several years of holding Test matches had come about after the BCB decided to install proper drainage facilities at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Before the twoTests, West Indies will open with a three-day tour game at the BKSP ground in Savar from November 8. They play the first Test in Mirpur from November 13, which will be Bangladesh's first home Test in 2012. The Tests will be followed by five ODIs and a single Twenty20 international.
The visitors will also play a warm-up one-day game in Khulna on November 27 following which the one-day series begins on November 29. The south-western city will host the second ODI before the tour returns to the capital for the remaining games on December 5, 7 and 8. The Twenty20 game will be held on December 10.
West Indies are set to arrive in Dhaka on November 3.

yes it will be tough and bangledesh are improving all the time but the windies now have a new attitude and if they apply them selves they should go ok .
Posted by kmshihabuddin on (October 31, 2012, 5:34 GMT)good luck bangladesh good luck have a good series
Posted by FOTO on (October 30, 2012, 22:44 GMT)The fast bowlers for test is either Abul Hasan or Shafiu Islaml. Too bad Rubel is injured and Mashrafee can't play tests for now :(
Posted by AzAb12754 on (October 30, 2012, 16:35 GMT)West Indies need to thrash Bangladesh because nothing else is acceptable against this team so no excuses if it goes wrong.
Posted by ExtremeSpeed on (October 30, 2012, 10:04 GMT)@Meety - Honestly for Bangladesh's sake, I wouldn't keep on bringing new faces especially for a format such as test because most of the time, it doesn't really work. Rather I will just use the current players who have played a lot for the national team and are experienced. The only thing I would change will be the fast bowling line-up. Nazimuddin should not play after his terrible performance in Asia Cup and Mortaza is not allowed to play apparently in Tests for at least a year due to rehabilitation.
Posted byhmmm....Khulna! Unquestionably is the Tigers' abode.
Posted by Meety on (October 30, 2012, 4:03 GMT)Bangladesh Test XI 1. Tamim, 2. Nazimuddin, 3. Siddique/Nasir/Nafees, 4. Naeem Islam, 5. Shakib, 6. Mahmudullah, 7. Rahim, 8. Gazi, 9. Sunny, 10. Mortaza, 11. Kazi Islam
Posted by ExtremeSpeed on (October 29, 2012, 19:46 GMT)West Indies are expected to win this series 2-0 but I doubt it will be straight forward. I checked this ground on Google and looks really good surprised they haven't played an International match there for a long while.
Posted by ExtremeSpeed on (October 29, 2012, 19:43 GMT)@amemberoftheelect23 - If Bangladesh can manage Ajmal most of the time then I'm sure Narine will be a bit easier. Narine has struggled so far in his short test span compared to his success in One Days and especially T20.
