How is this good negotiations? Its blackmail and bullying. CSA removes Lorgaat, BCCI is happy, otherwise CSA get nothing from BCCI. Who can afford not to have India touring?

And CSA gets two test and 3 ODI. And by the way, 2 tests are an insult as you might have seen with SA vs Aus, and lately, Pak vs SA. It just makes it difficult to get a result, and even if there is a result, it might not be a true reflection of the game.

He reminds me of Henry Kissinger.

Henry Kissinger, was the 'ultimate player' in International negotiations. No country (including his own, USA) had ever seen anyone better than him in "managing" any opponent to see his way, and bring him/that country around to USA's advantage. Kissinger's tactics were class room stuff, for many of us who had registered for the "International Negotiations" course at Harvard, in the sixties.

In post independence modern Indian history V.K Krishna Menon, is the best India produced for dealing with "difficult" countries. But, even he was mostly words & less actions; overt & loud; nothing covert, smooth & silent.

Now, India seem to have proved that it can produce Indian versions of Henry Kissingers. The Govt should make use of them to handle tough situations in international negotiations, like in demolishing unfair trade barriers, changing clauses in GAAT which are unfair to developing countries.

Sorry, for posting a "semi-serious" comment here!

  • Why Australia should pick Steve Magoffin
Michael Jeh: If the selectors are willing to think out of the box, they could do worse than include the uncapped fast bowler, now with Sussex
  • Test match drama can't be beaten
Mark Nicholas: The way this Ashes has developed it is impossible know what will follow. Every moment should be savoured
  • Win some, lose some, and a duck tango
Ask Steven: Also: fastest to 400 wickets, most wickets by a double-centurion, and Aaqib and Shoaib's parallel careers
  • Clarke's weaknesses against spin
Aakash Chopra: The Australian captain is considered world-class against spin, but his numbers in Asia suggest he has some chinks in his armour
  • Two sides to the Haddin case
Russell Jackson: For all the emotion tied to his family situation and the depth of his contribution to the Test side, he was seriously out of form with the bat
