Australia's quicks followed what Kagiso Rabada started as the defending champions hit back strongly on the opening day of the World Test Championship final. The contest had been billed as a battle between two attacks and 14 wickets fell on the first day at Lord's to suggest the destination of the mace could be decided sooner rather than later.
Rabada's 5 for 51, the second time he has got his name on the Lord's honours board, kept Australia to 212, before Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood struck back in the final session to leave South Africa tottering on 43 for 4 and looking towards their captain, Temba Bavuma, for inspiration.

An excellent half-century from Nat Wraith led Bears Women to a seven-wicket win over Durham women in the Vitality Blast despite a brilliant knock from Mady Villiers.
Durham's innings was the Villiers show as the all-rounder produced a classy knock (85 not out from 56 balls) after a couple of early blows from England's Issy Wong. She was well supported by Bess Heath as they made 162 for five from their 20.

England completed their white-ball rout of West Indies at the Utilita Bowl on Tuesday, underlining their dominance by securing a 37-run victory in the third T20I.
Capping off back-to-back 3-0 series wins for Harry Brook's first assignments as limited-overs captain - England's first in T20Is since 2021, against Sri Lanka - was a vast margin that began with a mammoth 248 for 3, having been put in to bat by Shai Hope. Ben Duckett's 84, which began alongside 60 from Jamie Smith - a maiden half-century in the format - set the platform with 120 inside nine overs.

Tanush Kotian and Anshul Kamboj headlined the final day of the second unofficial Test between England Lions and India A as the match ended in a draw. The two shared an unbroken 121-run stand for the eighth wicket before Kamboj also struck twice in an over before the teams shook hands.
The partnership lasted the entirety of the middle sessions, and they scored at a touch over five runs an over for the 29.4 overs they batted together.

India A ended the penultimate day in Northampton with a lead of 184. For Lions, Woakes picked up two of the four wickets that fell.
In what could be a concern for England ahead of the five-Test series against India starting June 20, fast bowler Josh Tongue hobbled off after bowling just four overs for 27 runs in the second innings. The nature and extent of his injury is yet to be determined. He is part of the England squad for the first Test.

The Bears piled up 199 for 6 against the injury-hit Falcons. Opening pair Tom Latham (58 off 42 balls) and Alex Davies (49 off 29) provided a strong launchpad before the visitors reined the scoring in a little, Pat Brown taking 3 for 40.

First James Coles led the way with the bat, with an unbeaten 75, before Nathan McAndrew took over with the ball, with figures of five for 19 from his four overs. At one point Glamorgan, who had also won two out of three before this fixture, were 49 for seven and appeared to be heading for an even heavier defeat.

Captain Dawid Malan became the fifth English batter to reach 10,000 career T20 runs at the start of a superb 88 which helped his Yorkshire side achieve their first Vitality Blast win of the season at the expense of Leicestershire Foxes at Headingley.
The former England left-hander hit five sixes in an opening 48-ball knock which helped his side, on the back of three North Group defeats, set the Foxes an imposing 214-target that was never threatened.

The Hawks had the misfortune to run into a fully armed and operational Zak Crawley: the England man hit 75 off 43 balls, including three sixes and he enjoyed a stand of 110 with Daniel Bell-Drummond, who made 61 from 40.
