Thursday was the opening day of the third Test between India and England at Lord's. And it was a special day for Sachin Tendulkar, the format's most prolific batter, at the Home of Cricket.
He started the day by unveiling his portrait, painted by British artist Stuart Pearson Wright, at the MCC Museum at Lord's. "I first visited Lord's as a teenager in 1988, and returned in 1989 with the Star Cricket Club team," he posted on social media. "I remember standing near the pavilion, soaking in the history and dreaming quietly.
"Today, to have my portrait unveiled at this very place is a feeling that's hard to put into words. Life has truly come full circle. I'm grateful, and filled with wonderful memories."

Move over Met Gala. If you're a sportsperson, the place to be seen right now is at Wimbledon, which served up its usual mix of strawberries, sunshine, and surprise cricketer sightings. Newly retired Virat Kohli made his appearance at Centre Court ten years after he was seen there last, and he was very clear on who he was rooting for. He name-dropped Novak Djokovic with whom he's been touch "for some time now".
Turns out being retired isn't a pre-requisite for showing up at the tournament - you can also drop by if you're between Tests. Rishabh Pant certainly did.

India fought back against England to win the Edgbaston Test and level the series 1-1. Here's some fun behind-the-scenes footage from the Test and after it.
First up, Mohammed Siraj, Rishabh Pant and Akash Deep tried to get a nice photo in together. That took a while. Poor Akash Deep took ten wickets in the Test, but that only meant he had to endure cake on his face and his hair.

Australia are leading 1-0 in their Test series against West Indies and captain Pat Cummins is enjoying his tour of the Caribbean, particularly interacting with the local people.
"Just the few people I've met so far have been awesome," Cummins said ahead of the second Test in St George's in Grenada. "The chef this morning making my omlette was telling me how he's cooked fish for Punter [Ricky Ponting] and Haydos [Matthew Hayden] in the 2007 World Cup. That obviously went well.

With the Wimbledon on, England's cricketers were asked to make their choice between Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner and Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion at SW19 and who beat Sinner in a riveting French Open final last month.
The choice was overwhelmingly in favour of Alcaraz, the two-time Wimbledon champion. Joe Root, Ollie Pope, Shoaib Bashir, Chris Woakes, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Smith and Josh Tongue all picked him over Sinner, who was chosen fast bowlers Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton.

Long before his Top Gear run, his boxing stint, and his time as a youth coach, Andrew Flintoff very nearly traded cricket whites for wrestling tights as "Big Fred". The England Ashes hero spoke on the Betfair Stick to Cricket podcast about the time he was offered a three-year contract by WWE, with a fast-track to WrestleMania and the Royal Rumble.
As Flintoff tells it, the journey began after a premature retirement left him unmoored. "I fell out of love with cricket. I genuinely thought my best years were ahead of me at 31. Especially as a bowler, I was bowling quicker, my batting was coming back and I was thinking the next three years are my years, but I never got that.
I couldn't be around it. When you retire, everything moves on and you're left behind."

Fielders at the boundary aim for rocket-like throws to the keeper, but what if they had actual javelin skills to help get the ball back for a run-out? Olympic javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra reckons that among the current Indian cricketers, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah would do well in his sport.
"I feel it would be a fast bowler," Chopra told Navjot Sidhu when asked which cricketer would make a good javelin thrower. "When Jasprit Bumrah is fully fit and in his prime, I'd like to get him to try javelin.

Australia are not having their best outing in the Barbados Test, struggling for runs on tricky pitch. But two young Aussie fans had their day made when Nathan Lyon turned up to have a chat with them after the day's play.
Lyon went up to greet the ten-year-olds, Ollie and Max, who were sporting "Nice, Garry" t-shirts with his picture on them. Ollie told Lyon he was an opening batter and Lyon asked him for some tips.
"We might need some runs tomorrow," Lyon said. "Don't get out," was Ollie's sound advice. "That's pretty hard for me," exclaimed Lyon (Test batting average 12.6). Max informed him that he's a legspin bowler.

Inglis will be playing in the first Test against West Indies in Barbados, starting today, June 25, as a replacement for Steven Smith, out due to a finger injury sustained during the WTC final against Australia at Lord's earlier this month.

Ahead of the Test series against India, England captain Ben Stokes decided to relax with a night at the movie theatre with some of his team-mates, watching Final Destination Bloodlines, the latest installment in the horror franchise.
"Final Destination is one of those childhood - sounds a bit rogue - films you watch," Stokes said. "Threw it out there if anyone wanted to go and there were seven of us who went down. Interesting watch."
Stokes revealed that fast bowler Brydon Carse had a few uncomfortable moments while watching the film. The franchise is known for the gruesome ways in which it kills off its characters.
