Opener Parvez hammered a brilliant 90 as National League leaders Sylhet
took a stranglehold over Khulna on the second day at the Sylhet Stadium
yesterday.
The absorbing knock from the young right-hander helped the hosts to recover
from a jumpy start to make 236 all out in 86.3 overs in their first
innings.
Parvez on eight at the start of play, played the sheet anchor role to
propel Sylhet to taking a first innings lead of 113. He however missed the
ton, nicking a Jamaludding delivery behind the wicket.
For Khulna off-spinner Sohel Islam captured four wickets for 54 runs in his
19 overs. Veteran right-arm seamer Khairuzzaman returned with three for 62
runs.
Bundled out for 123 in the first innings Khulna, were 33 for no loss in
their second innings at stumps.
