Ends it in style. Full and outside off again, Reifer manages to get under it and thumps it back over the bowler's head. But that matters little because it is a 32-run win for Royals to go atop the table
Royals vs Amazon, 16th Match at Bridgetown, CPL, Sep 14 2024 - Ball by Ball Commentary
12:03am Let's hear from the captains now
Shai Hope, Amazon Warriors captain: "We gave a little bit away in the end - 25-30 runs too much. One of those days where you don't get over the line. We understand the class bowler that Theekshana is. We need to understand the conditions, it was difficult to hit when the ball gripped. Wasn't the greatest game, need to look at areas to improve. Need to find ways to get wickets. Imran Tahir is a big loss for us, but we can't look at that. There are plenty of ways to get wickets. And then the death overs, important to finish well. Fans always support us, I am sure if we continue what we do, they'll come out in numbers in Guyana."
Rovman Powell, Royals captain: "The game was done before the last over. The 19th over and before that, we did a fantastic job to restrict a powerful team to 170 with a wet outfield. It is a case of us saying 150-160 won't win the game. Someone in the top order has to bat deep. De Kock is valuable, left-hander and has experience at the top of the order. Long may that continue. Credit to the team for looking good in all areas. We have two days before the next game. Cricket looks good so far."

11:53pm A first loss in CPL 2024 for Amazon Warriors as they ran into a belligerent Royals de Kock. A chase of 206 was always a tall ask. And once the openers fell cheaply, the task became arduous. Hope and Moeen - aided by a Hetmyer cameo - kept them in the hunt on either side of a rain interval. But once all of them fell, there was no coming back.
That showed the importance of de Kock pacing his innings earlier in the evening on the way to his seventh T20 century. He started a tad slow and was on 15 off 17 in the powerplay. But then he accelerated and how! He brought up his second CPL century in 60 balls and, thanks to Holder's brisk knock towards the end, helped Royals to a 200-plus score, one that proved enough. Royals' winning streak ended yesterday and they ensured to wipe off Amazon Warriors' clean slate tonight with a dominant show
Quinton de Kock, Player of the Match: "Trying to have a good time in the Caribbean and enjoying my game. [Ranking this century] I am not too sure. Today it was a pretty good wicket, made sure to capitalise and get the team to a winning total. [Starting slow] It just happened. My partner took control of the powerplay. I found it tough, he didn't. He took pressure off me and I took my time, and it got better as the innings wore on. We are positive, last night we lost but it was a good game. We came out with intensity and energy. Pretty bugged after these two nights."

Another lucky edge for Paul. Full and slanting in on leg from wide of the crease, he looks to flick it away but gets enough bat to beat short fine leg
Walloped! The short-of-length deliveries have helped Holder so far, but not this time. Paul gets hold of it and pulls it way over deep midwicket for half a dozen
Perfect bouncer, angling in from outside off, Paul misses the pull as it gets high on him
Length ball outside off, slapped to long-off
Holder's final over
