short ball gets pulled through the legside, it's a long chase as there is no fielder in the deep and they have the chance to come back for a third. The Reds win!
Leinster vs Reds, 3rd Match at Dublin, INTER-PRO, May 18 2023 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Reds won by 5 wickets (with 12 balls remaining)
When the Reds lost thre wickets in an over, it felt that the game was very much in the balance. Yet a record 4th wicket partnership between Kane ane Moor took the game away from the hosts.
Both set batters upped their pace when needed and cleared the boundary with ease, which 11 sixes between them, they were able to keep the runrate manageable and won in the end with two overs to spare.
Ruben Wilson was the pick of the Lightning bowlers and picked up his fifth wicket just before the finish. He is only the fourth Lightning bowler to pick up a five for, with Kane, Dockrell and McCarthy the other three.
With Simi Singh unable to bowl and McCarthy only bowling 4 overs, the Lightning attack was always under pressure and didn't create the chances that they needed to.
Tyrone Kane has just been named the player of the match for his overall performance with both the bat and the ball today.
The Reds will be happy to pick up their first win of the season and close in on the top of the table. For the Lightning, it's two home games played and two losses.
Next week there are another three games, all up in Northern Ireland and I hope that you can join me then. Until then, thanks for following along today, this is Justin saying goodnight from Dublin.
