this is closer into the stumps and this is lifted over the legside toward midwicket, but Tuskers need six to win and they won't get it. It lands well short. Colombo Kings have somehow clawed this one back
Tuskers vs Kings, 1st Match at Hambantota, LPL, Nov 26 2020 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Match tied (Kings won the one-over eliminator)
Thanks for being with us for this thrilling start to the Lanka Premier League. Despite the many challenges the tournament has faced, this first match has been thoroughly entertaining. A less-fancied Tuskers side ran a star-studded Kings outfit very close, despite one of the Tuskers bowlers pulling up with an apparent hamstring injury early on.
Join us again for the next match tomorrow, between Galle Gladiators and Jaffna Stallions. Till then, take it easy.

What a first match! I can't help feeling that Tuskers will feel screwed over by the umpire's refusal to call wide on a very obvious wide, however. It was a rough call in a Super Over situation.
Despite that, Kings did incredibly well to pull this game in their direction after conceding 219. There were oustanding innings from Dinesh Chandimal, Isuru Udana, and a nice cameo from Qais Ahmad.
Kusal Perera: "It was a great game and a really good track for batsmen. It wasn't a good track for bowlers. With Irfan Pathan injured we'll have to talk to management and sort it out,"
Angelo Mathews: "Isuru showed us what he's capable of, Chandi showed us what he's capable of, and Russell gave us his best out there. The margin for the bowlers was very little. Isuru was fantastic with both bat and ball"
Dinesh Chandimal is man of the match: "We played an army commanders league a month back that helped me. In T20s I have to open the innings. I can't go for big shots when I bat in the middle because I hit along the ground. As opener I can get going because I can beat the field. That was my game plan."
Full and wide, carved to deep point for a single
this is down the legside and should be a wide. No? The umpire doesn't call it. Strange. Gurbaz shuffles to off, but that shouldn't make a difference here. That should be wide. But it's not called as such.
Still no slower ball from Udana, which you expected. Gurbaz bangs that way back over the bowlers head for six
Gurbaz is lighting this super over up.
Stays in his place this time, and Udana goes full and wide. Gurbaz carves that high, backward of point, and beats the fielders to get four
runs way across the stumps and tries to smack that over short fine leg, but misses completely. A dot ball to start
Looks like Isuru Udana will be bowling the Super Over for Colombo Kings.
Kusal Perera, who has been on the field for all but about seven deliveries of this game, is taking guard again for Tuskers. Rahmanullah Gurbaz is joining him. This should be good.
decent yorker wide-ish of off stump, drilled wide of long on, and they sprint two as the fielders run across to cut it off
full ball wide of off stump. Too wide. AAAnd the batsmen run a bye. So not only is it a wide, but Russell is back on strike.
Mathews gets himself into the super over. Poor ball from from Pradeep. Knee high full toss that's larruped past square leg for four
spears one int Russell's boot. Back of the hand slower ball I think. Russell can't connect. It dribbles off into the offside and the run a legbue
back of a length into the waist and Russell bashes this, high over deep square leg
Udana connects, but doesn't connect well enough. Fullish again, into the pads again, Udana hits it high into the legside and Kusal Mendis runs around from deep midwicket to get a good running catch
fast, fullish, speared into the pads, Russell tries to swing this over the legside and misses. The ball deflects off to the offside and the run a leg bye
Russell is facing.
Nuwan Pradeep is bowling the Super Over for Tuskers.
Udana and Andre Russell batting for Colombo Kings.
