yorker to end the match too, outside off, and he steers it to third man where the fielder cuts it off for two
RR vs Daredevils, 36th match at Mumbai, IPL, May 03 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
11.44pm Finally a win for Rajasthan Royals, after five matches that didn't go their way, including two that were wahed out. This turned out to be a comfortable win in the end with the Daredevils middle order relying too much on Duminy adn Yuvraj again. After Rahane's 91* Royals made sure they utilised the conditions properly by bowling only pace. That's the sixth consecutive match Daredevils have lost to Royals.
JP Duminy: It was the right decision to leave out Tahir and bowl first. We're guilty of not putting the ball in the right areas. They got a great start and we bowled reasonably well. 190 was gettable here, unfortunately we didn't get any partnerships going. We need to win four out of five now and hopefully it brings out the best in us. I still think we have the resources to do that. The pitch was seamer friendly so I didn't think I was needed with the ball. Batting at No. 3 is a little bit new for me, but I'm enjoying that and the captaincy too. We let ourselves down in the field today.
Shane Watson: We lost some momentum but we turned it around. Rahane and Nair batted beautifully, and then the ball swung around in our favour. I thought there would be a bit of swing with the new ball so nice to get a bit of grass cover. It was a really good cricket wicket. We got some key wickets and we did a nice job defending 189. We hope to win every game from here.
Man of the Match Rahane: I knew I was batting really well and played a rash shot in the last match. I was very hurt by that and wanted to make this count. I backed my instinct in the middle and it was good to lay a foundation in the first six overs because we have good firepower in the middle order. Nair batted really well and we were just discussing timing the ball because the outfield is fast here.
That's all we have from this match from Mumbai, Royals' new home ground. They will be happy after a drought of matches that didn't go their way and do join us tomorrow as the action continues. Till then, goodbye and good luck! Ciao!
Murtaza86 : "Delhi Poor fielding cost them this match"
he goes a long way to off, Southee delivers a yorker by chasing the batsman and they sneak in a bye. Samson gets a direct hit at his end and overthrows give them two more
towards the stumps and Tiwary hammers that with a powerful pull to the wide long on boundary for a cracking six!
he's bowling like Dhawal and delivers a wide way outside off for a wide
tries to slog and gets an inside edge just past the stumps for one
he moves a bit towards the leg side to cut that on off but misses it. There was some sound acutally as the ball went past the bat, Southee appealed all alone and the umpire didn't move
full outside off, Tiwary drives that firmly through the covers and a fumble in the deep gives them three
swings and misses as Mishra makes room to target the off side but misses as he swings his bat
Maybe the last ball of this over
almost a yorker this time, Tiwary punches that down the ground towards long off for two
another full toss, Tiwary comes down and smashes that through the covers in the gap for four!
can't clear Smith at long off this time! Another poor delivery, this was a full toss outside off, NCN lofted that high down the off side and it could have cleared the boundary. But Smith kept his cool at the boundary and took it near his shoulders with his fingers pointing up
to add to that, Coulter-Nile gets under that fullish delivery and tonks that with abig heave on the leg side, over deep midwicket for a six in the crowd
Watson doesn't look happy as Kulkarni now bowls a wide way outside off for another wide
and he bangs in a bouncer down the leg side for a wide
Fine leg goes deep and deep midwicket comes in
block hole well outside off, Tiwary blocks it on the off side for one
full and wide way outside off, called wide as it's left alone
If DD had any hopes, they have gone back with JPD
fullish outside off, Duminy goes across and ramps that straight to short fine leg. He went down on a knee for the full delivery, got the middle of the bat but could not clear the fielder in the circle
tries the block hole outside off, JPD taps it just wide of point, where Bhati tumbles to his left but can't stop it
low full toss is driven down wide of long off and Duminy gets two
almost a yorker just outside off, driven to cover for a quick single
