Aravinda de Silva and Hashan Tillekaratne have a chance to tour Africa after all. Not to South Africa though, but to Kenya in January for the recently finalised `A' tour. The team is expected to spend approximately five weeks in Nairobi and Mombassa.
Both Aravinda de Silva and Tillerkaratne have been selected in a 26 man training pool for the tour. The pool is also expected to provide back up for the tour of New Zealand and England's tour of Sri Lanka's. The two veteran batsmen will perhaps be sent to South Africa and New Zealand should any member of the senior party be waylaid by injury.
Pasau Wanasinghe is another player called into the squad. Indeed, he has been tipped by the hierarchy as a future prospect for the full one-day international. He plays his club cricket for Galle and has been consistently successful over the last 2 years as a genuine all rounder who bowls right arm medium pace and bats in the middle order.
