The squad is due to assemble in Melbourne after departing from home ports on the evening of Sunday 23 December.
The umpires for the Second Orange Test match are Darrell Hair (Australia) and Eddie Nicholls (West Indies), with Bob Parry (Australia) acting as third umpire. The International Cricket Council match referee is Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka.

Australia holds a 1-0 lead in the three-match Orange Test series after a 246-run win in the first Test at Adelaide from December 14 - 18. The third and final match in the Orange Test Series is in Sydney (January 2 - 6, 2002).
