Barbados: Interesting Match-Ups For Finals
The Barbados Nation
Today marks the beginning of the end of the Courts/Suzuki
Division 1 cricket competition.
Second-placed Cable & Wireless BET have to do all the running if
they are to snatch the top prize of a $45 000 car from Police in
the final round of matches.
BET face Big B Spartan at Queen's Park in what is likely to be a
challenging affair even though Spartan have been in poor form in
the latter part of the season.
Four points separate BET and leaders Police. The lawmen on 70
points have an assignment at Weymouth with United Carlton, who
are in sixth spot on 38 points.
All the other games have no bearing on the title, but players
will play for pride.
One game which will generate some interest is the Banks vs
Sports & Games YMPC clash at Beckles Road. Three former YMPC
stalwarts, Winston Reid, Mark Estwick and Stephen Lorde had a
fallout before the season, and they will want to settle the
score when they return "home".
