With Leaders Police securing a win in two days last Sunday, the other
teams will be playing catch-up on the final day of the seventh round
of the Courts/Suzuki Division 1 cricket competition at 12:30
p.m. today.
The defending champions brushed aside lowly Dewars YMPC to advance to
36 points.
Second-placed teams Big B Spartan and ESA Field Pickwick are still
locked in a first innings battle at Queens Park, with the visitors
still needing a further 124 runs to move off 22 points.
A win is on the cards at Black Rock, but who will secure the victory
between the plucky CHIC Schools South and United
Carlton is anyones guess.
Carlton surrendered first innings points but shot back at the
students. Now, with Desmond Haynes in the line-up, the home
team should be favoured.
The other matches are all evenly poised, but with the
unpredictable nature of local batsmen a few unlikely victories
could be in the offing.
