De Villiers Included in list of contracted SA Players (19 May 1997)

Fanie De Villiers' overseas career is not yet over. That's the implication in the list of players that will be offered by the UCB.

The hugely popular fast-medium bowler is included in the list of 19 players - as is last season's other "forgotten man" Craig Matthews.

Jonty Rhodes, another player who's international career had seemed to be at a cross roads, is included as is Natal's off-spinning all-rounder Derek Crookes. The only notable admission is Northern Transvaal pace bowler Rudi Bryson who represented South Africa in several one day games during the 96/7 season.
