Cricket Australia today advised the contact details for Australian cricket clubs to enquire about the national insurance scheme that will slash insurance costs by up to 50 per cent for many clubs.
Since announcing details of the scheme two weeks ago, Cricket Australia and state/territory associations have received an overwhelming response from cricket clubs across Australia keen to take advantage of the potential cost savings and improved cover.
Club administrators are encouraged to access the special website set up to handle all enquiries about the scheme, at www.jlta.com.au.
The easy-to-follow website provides clubs with information about the scheme, including:
  • what is covered;
  • how to join;
  • pricing structures;
  • how to make a claim; and
  • downloadable claim forms.
Administrators can also choose to telephone the following number for more information:
1300 655 684 (all states & territories).
The scheme is set to offer more affordable and appropriate insurance cover for clubs, associations, players, officials, administrators and volunteers.
The national scheme came about by the collective efforts of the national and state cricket administrative bodies to help cricket better manage issues of liability, duty of care and risk management, and create a safer environment for the game.
Indicative calculations suggest that the national approach could provide Australian cricket clubs with a saving of around $3 million.
