The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today announced that it has appointed Mark Sibley, 39, as its new Commercial Director.
Mark will take up his appointment in early May.
Commenting on his appointment, Tim Lamb, Chief Executive of the ECB, said:
"I have no doubt that Mark will prove to be a very valuable addition to the ECB's Executive team. He brings a wealth of experience that will be crucial in ensuring that the ECB maximises all its existing commercial opportunities, and identifies new ones. It's essential that the ECB continues to build on its commercial activities and thereby provides a solid financial foundation for the whole game - Mark will play the leading role in doing this".
Mark Sibley said:
"As a passionate cricket supporter, I'm especially delighted to be
joining the ECB and given full responsibility for the commercial development of the ECB's business. It's vital that the financial future of the game - at all
levels - in England and Wales is secured, and I look forward to working closely
with existing and new commercial partners. Cricket has gained the
reputation with Government for being the best managed national sport,
and there is no doubt that the game has, in commercial terms, much to offer
broadcast partners and sponsors".
