The England women's team will be playing at Lord's for the first time in five years when they play a one-day match against India there in 2006. It will be the first time ever that the Indian women are playing at Lord's.
"To play at Lord's is every cricketer's dream," Caroline Atkins, the England opener, told BBC Sport. "It has been India's dream to play at the home of cricket and I feel the timing has never been better," said Gill McConway, the England Cricket Board's executive director of Women's Cricket. The MCC, the owners of Lord's, only allowed women members in 1999.
