During the height of the cricket season, the site received over 180,000 hits per month, with the Club Information page receiving over 7000 calls in June and the News Page proving almost as popular with 6892 hits.
The site, which has been developed by the Club's official statistician and scorer, Vic Isaacs, provides a comprehensive range of news, information and statistics. It also contains player information, archive material including every single Hampshire scorecard since 1864, a range of photographs plus full membership information for the 2004 season. There are also links through to www.rosebowlplc.com for details of forthcoming events.
For those wishing to shop on line, and this year there have been over 1000 visits to the Hampshire Cricket Shop page, there is a wealth of merchandise and memorabilia to satisfy even the most ardent of fans or provide an excellent reference point for those shopping for Christmas gifts.
"This is fantastic news," said Nick Pike, managing director at The Rose Bowl, home to Hampshire Cricket. "Throughout 2003 we have been working hard to improve the site and to provide up-to-date, interesting and informative information with good headline stories. To find that we are the leading UK site for county cricket is brilliant. Full credit must go to Vic Isaacs for his enthusiasm and commitment in maintaining the site."
