David Griffiths and Jono McLean have both earned contracts with Hampshire,
after both did well for the 2nd XI last summer.
McLean, 24, who represented Western Province from 2001-02 but has a British passport, had a batting average over 80 for the 2nd XI in 2004. He was given a three-year contract.
Tim Tremlett, Hampshire's director of cricket, said on the signing: "The ability he showed in the 2nd XI last season has persuaded Hampshire to invite this exciting player as part of our future plans."
Meanwhile, Griffiths, 19, who is a right-arm medium pace bowler, accepted a one-year deal. Griffiths is a product of the Hampshire Academy, and he will tour Malaysia and India with England Under-19s in the new year.
