Rawalpindi, Oct 31: England captain Nasser Hussain was let off with a
caution and warning, sources said.
Australian match referee Barry Jarman had summoned the Englishmen
after the third and final one-day international on Monday night for a
hearing but had reserved his decision.
Although Jarman was expected to release his decision through the
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), official sources said Jarman told the
team management that he was leaving the England captain with a
'caution and warning'.
However, David Clarke, the England team media relation officer,
emphasised that Hussain was not cautioned while admitting that a
formal hearing was held.
"Hussain was asked by the match referee to explain why he damaged the
door of a refrigerator in the dressing room. The England captain's
explanation was accepted," Clarke said, adding: "(Nasser) Hussain
pleaded that it was accidental." Jarman was not available for official
comments.
