ESPNcricinfo's Jarrod Kimber has been shortlisted in the prestigious British Sports Journalism Awards in the new category of Cricket Writer of the Year

ESPNcricinfo continues to win recognition for the quality of its cricket coverage with two writers shortlisted in the prestigious British Sports Journalism Awards.
Jarrod Kimber, rapidly gaining a reputation as one of cricket's most innovative and perceptive writers, has been named in the final six as Cricket Writer of the Year - the first time the category has been awarded.
Kimber is currently in Australia and New Zealand, providing words and video as part of ESPNcricinfo's global reporting team for the World Cup. Tim Wigmore, another regular ESPNcricinfo contributor, has also been shortlisted as Young Sportswriter of the Year.
ESPNcricinfo's cricket coverage in the UK is going from strength to strength. For the past three years, the site has been named County Cricket Website of the Year by the ECB, in recognition of the unrivalled coverage provided of England's professional circuit.

There were a record number of entries for the Sports Journalism Association awards this year. The results of all categories will be announced at a prestigious awards dinner at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Monday, March 23, sponsored by BT Sport.
Cricket Writer shortlist: Mike Atherton, The Times; Scyld Berry, Telegraph; Nick Hoult, Telegraph; Jarrod Kimber, ESPN Cricinfo; Paul Newman, Daily Mail / Mail on Sunday; Vic Marks, Guardian.
