Kalpage Tipped to Captain Sri Lanka A (14 Nov 1995)

Kalpage to lead Lanka `A'?

All-rounder Ruwan Kalpage who was overlooked for the tour of Australia is tipped to lead a Sri Lanka `A' team to Sharjah for the 4- nation Interface Cup tournament from December 5-12.

A 20-member pool has been named from which the final 14 players will be selected for the tour.

The `A' teams of India and Pakistan and a team from the UAE will make up the quartet.

The pool: Ruwan Kalpage, Chaminda Mendis, Russel Arnold, Dulip Samaraweera, Sanjeewa Warusamana, Marvan Atapattu, Indika de Saram, Hemantha Wickremaratne, Varuna Waragoda, Upul Chandana, Carmen Mapatuna, Pubudu Dassanayake, Don Anurasiri, Nimesh Perera, Tariq Jiffry, Wendell Labrooy, Mario Villavarayan, Sanjeewa Silva, Pulasthi Guneratne, Dulip Liyanage.
