GR Vishwanath, vice-president of the Karnataka State Cricket
Association and chairman of the Karnataka State Cricket Academy,
inaugurated the academy on November 1, 2001. Brijesh Patel, secretary
of the KSCA, and KM Ramprasad, president of the KSCA & vice-president
of the Board for Control of Cricket in India, presided over the
function.
PR Ashokanand was named vice-chairman of the academy, and V Jagannath
was named director. Raghuram Bhat was appointed chief coach, while PV
Shashikanth and Avinash Vaidya were appointed assistant coaches.
The KSCA also named its under-22 team for the upcoming match against
Andhra Pradesh.
