Langeveldt may need replacing

Charl Langeveldt, who yesterday replaced Nicky Boje for the South African squad for their tour of India, has an injury and may himself have to be replaced, according to a report from the South Africa Press Association.

Langeveldt, 29, a right-arm swing bowler from Highveld Lions , has an injury to his third and fourth vertebrae on the left side. "I'll be very disappointed if I can't go," he said. "Conditions over there would suit my style of bowling."

Graeme Smith scored a double hundred for Western Province Boland against the Lions last weekend, and Langeveldt may have been overbowled against him. A final decision will not be taken until Friday when he will have fitness tests.
