It has been a miserable season for Lions Be'er Sheva in Division 1, but they finally have got something to smile out. Their narrow 3-run win over Ramle won't however help them avoid relegation to Division 2. Having won the toss, Be'er Sheva elected to bat and had Moshe Saul to thank for helping them post a competitive score. He scored a superb 101, with Rimon Naugauker (26) the only other batsman to reach double figures. Ramle never helped their cause by conceding 44 extras allowing the home side to reach 186. With Ramle having collapsed to 134 for 9, with Naugauker having taken 4 wickets, Be'er Sheva looked to have the game easily won. But a remarkable last wicket stand of 49 between number nine batsman Daniel Pingle and number eleven Sunny, suddenly had Ramle back in the game, and indeed heading for victory. But Be'er Sheva weren't going to let their moment of success be taken away from them, and up stepped centurion Saul to claim the wicket of Pingle for a well played 59, with Ramle 3 runs short of their target.
Lod maintained their 100% record in Division 2 with another comprehensive win, beating Petah Tikva by 80 runs in Lod. Simon Penkar top scored as Lod reached 191 for 8 against tidy Petah Tikva bowling, and then three wickets each for Siyon Sankar (3 for 26) and Avner Waskar (3 for 18) had the visitors bundled out for 111. Ezekiel Penkar top scored with 29.
