One of East Asia's most popular cricket tournaments, the Penang Sixes, climaxes today when the finals are decided.
In its sixth year, the Sixes have attracted 12 teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and India.
The best known player attending is brilliant cover fielder and middle order batsman of Ian Chappell's Australian teams of the mid-1970s, Ross Edwards.
Now domiciled in Singapore, Edwards will play for Singaporean club, United World College, which is fielding two teams.
Singapore national team coach, and former Australian Test player, Bruce Yardley, is also attending as key note speaker at the main function held last night.
Malaysian national team all-rounder, Rohan Selvaratnam, will play for one of Royal Selangor Sports Club's two teams, along with national coach, Lindsay Walker.
Former Tasmanian Sheffield Shield player Errol Harris will be a key member of the Perth Postels, veterans at Sixes events across South East Asia. The other Australian team will be Northern Territory club, Darwin CC.
As with most Sixes tournaments, there will both championship and plate knockouts after the initial round-up.
The groups are:
