Khaled Mashud, the Bangladesh wicketkeeper, has been excluded from the squad for the two one-day matches against Scotland starting December 15 at Chittagong. Mashud, who was rested for the last two ODIs against Zimbabwe, will be replaced by Nadif Chowdhury, a Bangladesh Under-19 batsman.
"It is not a difficult series, so we have decided to rest him [Mashud] for these two matches," Faruque Ahmed, the chief selector, told the Dhaka-based The Daily Star. "It would also give us a chance to test the young players."
Scotland will play a practice match against the Bangladesh Academy led by Chowdhury on December 13 at Chittagong before the first ODI at the same venue and the second one at Dhaka on December 17.
