The Premier Limited Overs match between Tamil Union and BRC was a one sided contest, with Tamil Union ending up easy winners at P. Saravanamuththu Stadium today. Tamil Union scored a creditable 219 runs having been asked to bat in damp conditions and with a sluggish outfield. With the inform Muraltharan in their ranks, the total proved well beyond BRC.
Tamil union started their innings badly losing three wickets for just 21 runs. However, Peiris and Rideegammanagedara then put on 97 runs for the fourth wicket. Young all-rounder, Malintha Warnapura, provided the only resistance with an undefeated 32. Mutiah Muralitharan was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 15 from his 8 overs.
